Singapore Idol

That guy deserve to be the winner, I got nothing against the other guy, he's voice is ok also. At first I didn't think it could happen, the first time was 'maybe' a fluke, but for it to happen again... wow unprecedented. And this is also the first time I sms to vote... 1 only, while yati 4 sms. Anyway I still believe, the singers (other than Hady), the rests (including Taufik) are way below average, if compared to the Malaysians and Indonesians, if you watched their Idol competitions and Akademi Fantasia, you would see and hear great talent. Anyway, our kids are crazy over Joakim, don't ask why, we the parents also don't know. So hopefully this guy remains humble, and not let it get over his head. Congrats!

Slayer coming to town!
Wah so long never update, I think this is the longest time my blog was neglected. It was a super crazy busyweek/days, would you believe there are days that I haven't had the time to surf the net for pleasure!
3X says "Anyway firstly, Slayer is coming to town. I've been listening to this speed metal band all my life, along with Metallica, Helloween and Iron Maiden. So the four piece band will be performing on Oct 13 (Don't ask if I'm going or not, I cannot answer). I'm a 35yr old father of 3, balding and buncit and I still listen to heavy metal - @#&k yeah!"

On another different note, for the whole of last week, I had to attend the Mac OS X Server training. Really exciting stuff, if you're into Apple machines and computer networking stuff. Anyway after a whole week of training, what do you think is the repercussions... piles of work waiting to be done, and the best part is early monday morning, got call up by the boss, who
immediately commands the new Mac X Servers to be operational - up and running asap. WTF!!! Nevermind, not one to whine, I just countered with "OK! No problem!!!", so begins the brainwork reading tons of manuals and calls to vendors, finally got it up and running only today. My very first server setup (for Mac), round of applause please.

I've done Novell Netware server(at Income), Win NT-4 server, Win 2003 server, Linux... and now I got the Mac experience. I feel complete!
hmmm... what else I've done since last week... played football (for 10 mins I think), brought back a huge cabinet from TamanBahasa (special thanks to Sweetdarlings for the help). Then got jamming session with Ayangz and Quirky this saturday, and also possibly karaoke session with Mykidz....

Scary Movies
1

and that's the order of "scared-me-shit!!!". I gave Evil Dead no.1 in my rating, because I have the original VCD and till now I can't bring myself to watch it, even in broad daylight. Next on my list is the Exorcist, no need to explain. Salem's Lot gives me creepy vision of that scene at the window...eeeeks.. Ju-On -that boy that meows and his mother - make me shout "W.T.F!!!" so many times.
Anyway in my opinion, no recent horror flicks made these days can matched the nightmares the above movies gave me. I know I'm a grown man, but even a man can get shocked by creepy scenes, grotesque make-up and shocking sound effects. But sometimes its fun to scary yourself silly, in order to escape from the real world.
*ps* anyone wants to borrow my Evil Dead VCD, or watch with me.....

Jamming History
Flashback 1992 - My old gang have moved on, and I found myself in another band with my NS mates. We have new skills and I've moved on from a drummer to rhythm guitar. As time goes on we got better, mostly Metallica, Iron Maiden, Helloween and Slayer songs. We were serious playing, and anyone caught playing with a wrong chord or tempo will get @#$@ from the rest. 2 guitars, 1 bass, 1 drummer and a vocalist.
Flashback Yesterday 2006 - 20 years on, I found myself in another band. Who would have thought, there we were - Me going jamming... with my 3 kids and the wife... along with 2 teachers... Yan & Eti, my nieces, wearing tudung somemore and their husbands, Herman and Is, and Is was wearing baju kurung somemore... you get the picture. We played love songs and it got progressive... Picture this - Yan, a teacher, wearing tudung... singing Kasihku Laila !!! The teenagers there watched we played and give us a thumbs up!!! At one point, we even played Smells like teen spirit... Next session, we going for more heavy rock, so watch out for Yan singing Plush (STP). Let's Rock!!!
