Yati says "hmmmm... baru ambik sekor kucing kat SPCA dua minggu lepas, ni tambah sekor lagi. Tapi ni kita tak adopt kat SPCA, yang baru ni kita ambik dari kawan yati. Actually kawan kita tu maid indon, majikan dia ni breeder, maknanya dia ternak kucing special untuk di jual. Seekor anak kucing jenis RagaMuffin ni, boleh dijual S$500 se-ekor. Coco ni dah beranak 3 kali, anak-anak dia semua sudah kena jual.... kesian dia. So sekarang breeder tu dah tak perlukan dia lagi, so kasi kat kita. Kita pulak takut kalau tak ambik dia, kang apa jadi kat kucing tu. Takpelah - maklumlah orang tu nama dia 3X kan, so semua mesti 3. Anak 3, kucing pun kena 3 jugak.
Kucing jenis RagaMuffin ni actually special breed, cantik bulu dan ekor dia. Coco ni belum sterlised lagi, so kengkadang tu dia syok sendiri bila dia tengah steam (on heat).

The problem -- and that is that there are too many cats breeding. Thirteen thousand cats are killed a year -- that works out to 35 healthy cats a day. To keep that number down, the number of cats born has to be reduced drastically. To put it simply, the fewer cats born, the fewer cats have to suffer and die.
The MUIS Fatwa Committee states: "Fundamentally, all mazhabs (Schools of Islamic Jurisprudence) allow the sterilisation of animals. After analysing the arguments and position of the different mazhabs and medical opinion from the Society of Prevention of Cruelty Againts Animals (SPCA), the Fatwa committee decides that sterilising cats on the basis of 'maslahat' (general good) is harus (permissible)."
