Game kopek durian, tiup balloon, makan longan.

Si 3X ni dia baling durian tu kat pokok, lepas tu kat lamp post pun tak boleh pecah jugak. Orang baling kat batu baru dia terbukak. Dah kena lantai dan rumput pun kita bedal jugak, janji kenyang, kalah takpe... hehehe.

The spirit of competition and togetherness is very strong. Kudos to everyone who came and took part, and also special thanks to our organiser, our very own Datuk K (Tuk Kadir...hehehe), appreciate it very much... May Allah panjangkan umur dan murahkan rezki untuk kita semua. Hip hip Hooray!!!."

Things that you want...

3X says "Whilst having lunch with the office guys, we started talking a topic about what we always wanted in life. You know, the kind of thing you want or a thing to do, that you always dream of when you growing up. The ultimate 'dream things' that you dream about. So around the table, these were mentioned - owning a car (of course), piloting an F1, stranded on a deserted island with a dream girl (like in the movie Blue Lagoon), win a lottery... one guy mentioned 'camping in Africa with wild animals' (hey, whatever makes you happy dude)... but funny none of us mentioned marriage (well we're guys, what you expect right)... Anyway when it was my turn, I said, the ultimate 'thing' that I really wanted was - a daughter. After all the 'WTF???' around the table, I was asked to explain myself. So this is my explaination...

When I was young (not sure how old), there is this movie called Firestarter. Its about a little girl who can start fire and shoots fireballs and destroy stuff. Of course knowing this girl have this power, a lot of people were after her. So basically the father throughout the movie, carries her, comforts her, protects her... and I find that so powerfully nice (not sure what that means also, but I don't know how to describe it any other way). The small girl is played by Drew Barrymore, and I find her so lovingly cute. I watched that movie countless times, and it somehow etched in my mind, the father carrying his daughter protecting her from bad people... and I wanted that ever since. I wanted a daughter as cute as that and I want to love her so bad. So ever since, I always dream of a daughter... and I think I got what I wanted when I see Nadhirah. Sometimes when you want something so bad, you get what you want. To me she looks like the girl in that movie, and as of now, she's the most precious thing in my life.

Well nobody really cared about my explaination anyway, and soon we started talking about the "stranded on an island with hot chicks" (notice it becomes a plural already)... hehehe...

What we did the whole week...

Fireworks Festival
Eve of national day 8th Aug, we went to catch the fireworks festival again, but this time we caught it at the Merlion. It was jam everywhere, people and vehicles. We had to park a few blocks, about 10mins walk. Finally reached there at 8:30pm and searched for a good location, but there were trees everywhere and the good spots are either taken up by sitting spectators or it was a restaurant area. And when it finally starts, most of the fireworks were behind the damn trees...sigh... but all is not in vain, it was still electrifying, with all the people in awe.

Cosmo Inn Hotel
The next day, 9th Aug, we simply don't know what to do or where to go, so we all just got in the car and we would decide inside while driving (we are always impromptu people, we never plan anything beforehand),. 5 mins after that, got sms from Sweetdarlings inviting us to picnic at East Coast and they caught a lot of fish. So I drove to PIE, but along the way (before Paya Lebar), the sky got dark, and the prospect of rain is inevitable. We then vision a wet picnic scrambling for shelter, and Yati then decided she wants to go Johor, so we Uturn heading back towards the checkpoint. Luckily it wasn't jammed at the woodlands checkpoint, but unluckily it was jammed at the causeway bridge. After passport chopped, we then think that going through another jam when returning back is not what we want to go through again. So we stayed at Cosmo Inn Hotel (formerly called Merlin Inn), located just beside Tanjung Puteri. Its rm80 (about SGD$35) per night with breakfast, very cheap. Its clean, nice and cosy. So we spent the rest of the day, relaxing, eating in Johor, and spent the evening sitting beside the sea at Tanjung Pelepas watching the sunset while eating kerepeks and keropoks.

Tanjung Sedili

Black, muddy sand beach... good for facials
The next day after checking out, we decided in the car to go Tanjung Sedili and swim. So off we went about an hour drive there, its very soothing driving along the old roads with kampongs at the side. We spent a few hours swimming, for info if you want to go there, park your car at Jason Beach Resort (rm70 per night) as there's a shower facility there, the public is usually close during the weekdays. The beach there is different, the sand is black and muddy but has a smooth texture, if you put it all over your face, like what I did (look like swamp thing monster), it feels so relaxing and nice. I think its used in facials at spas, you should try it.

So to cut long story short, we spent the remaining days of the week at Ayer Hitam. The kids were thrilled to see their Wan and Aki, who incidentally just finish watching Akademi Fantasia season 4, and the winner is Faizal (from Trengganu), we don't think he will be as popular as Mawi, as he doesn't have the X factor and aura. Get to jolok and pick the rambutan tree in front of the house, and brought home a lot of the fruit.... and basically thats how we spent the week.

Singapore Fireworks Festival - 5th August 2006

RockYou slideshow | View | Add Favorite

5th August, Singapore Fireworks Festival from the Italian team.
We parked our car at Suntec city by 8:00pm, because by 8:30pm the police will block the road going into the area. We climbed up the Benjamin Sheares bridge where a lot of people were waiting on the bridge too, all with cameras ready to capture the fireworks display. When it started, the loud booming sound and colourfull fireworks were very magical, some fireworks are also shot to the river, and exploded with colourfull designs. The fireworks were on top of our heads, and at times it looks scary as it was too close, Nadhirah kept crying because she was too scared to look at it. 12th August is another fireworks display, this time by the Singapore team, we definitely will make another climb to the bridge... anyone want to join us?...
