Nadhirah the Brave
Immediately we went to street 11 but all the clinics had already closed, but we did found one infront of blk 335, but that damn doctor was either too stupid or scared to stitched her up, and told us to go somewhere else..
Finally we found one doctor infront of Springfield primary school. He gave us 2 options, 1 was to stitched up the wound or another option is to just leave it to heal by itself, but it will leave a scar. Afraid of infections, I ask him to stitched her up immediately.
I was beside her during the 30 minutes minor surgery. She was such a brave girl, she didn't cry when the doctor had to inject her about 5 times directly in the wound. And she lay down very very still the whole time the doctor poke her with needle and thread. Even the doctor and nurses were very surprised. They kept saying she is such a brave and good girl, and this type of child should be "sayang" as much as possible. I was proud of her, and seeing like that breaks my heart. She is indeed a very tough girl.
Anyway she's ok already, 11 stitches in total and the thread will be taken out next week.

Sacha Baron
He was actually famous doing Ali G, and another character Bruno. My favourite movie of him is AliG in Da House (so now you know where this blog gets its name).
I'm not gonna review his movie Borat, because a movie like that cannot be reviewed, and you either hate it or love it, same goes for his AliG movies. And I'm not even gonna recommend you to watch his movies...
You can watch his winning speech, and for those who have watched Borat, would know what scene he is talking about.

School Time
Juliana says "Kita pun pergi sekolah naik bas, seronok pakai EZlink card. Kita pulak tahun ni sekolah petang, so bolehlah bangun lambat sikit. Kita tahun ni belajar Science tau, so kita asyik baca aje buku. Apa kita tak faham, kita tanya abah dengan mama, tapi kengkadang dia orang pun tak tahu nak explain...hehehe"

2006 in a nutshell
We were surprised when Juliana got number 4, not that we doubt her, but we thought we neglected her quite a lot last year, she always studies on her own. Anyway, this year she is so psyched about studying Science, and she kept reading and holding the science text book everytime.
Last year also marks the discovery of my kidney stones. The pain was, for lack of a better word - F@#$@# painful! and it was also the first time in my life, I was scanned like a pregnant woman by the doctor. Anyway the pain didn't come again, but I'm sure the damn stone is still in there.
The Quirky Couple got married last year, and also if I'm not mistaken, Batrisyah and Iqin was born around that time. Did Sadiq came out last year too? hmmm... Susah nak keep track bila "cucu" dah ramai sangat. We celebrated Bapak's birthday kat Jalan Kayu restaurant, with a larger turn out of family members, and it was fun as some contributed birthday videos for him.
Oh yes, the family also had formed an official Soccer team (still unnamed) and had trained together and played with a lot of other teams. Well turn out was good at the begining, but later on it dwindled to 8 players for the last match. Anyway, hope this could be pick-up back this year. And also from the sports front, the family has advanced to playing tennis and badminton. It was a really sporty year. Sporty = pengsan.
As for the "cuti-cuti Malaysia" last year, we had travel East and West during both school holidays. In June we went to Pulau Kapas, and who can forget that Candat Sotong thing, I must confess that was so the most difficult thing for me last year. I vomitted for the first time in 25 years (the last was when I was in primary school). Well Abang Atid followed us, and our journey was captured in the papers written by Abg Kadir. In December, I think the most number of family member s went on holiday to Langkawi, had tremendous good time together. And also for us, it was the first time we really drove all around the coast of Malaysia, the longest journey we had ever undertaken.
Last year Juliana broke her collar bone, and had to wear a sling for a month, and during that time, the World Cup was held, after the General Election. Anyway both results were equally disapointing. Anyway during the World Cup, we get to stay overnight at Wakdir's house to watch the match for 2nd/3rd placing, remember that.
And around August, we had a Family day at Bedok Reservoir, where we had some telematches, mini-concert and birthday celebrations. That was fun and memorable too. And I think around that time too, a family band was formed, and I step inside the jamming studio after a 15 years absence, with my nieces and nephews (who would have thought!).
I also remembered I have done wrong to my son, by cutting his hair till it was a disaster, and I really did panic. I have to remember to apologise to him when he is older. It breaks my heart to see him like that, especially caused by me. He even got rejected from an acting job, which also marks the first time Juliana and Nadhirah acting in their first "feature film".
Towards the end of the year, there were some "true-colours" being shown, sad but true, but ape-ape ajelah, still tak faham but like what I always say - gasak kaulah!, just means one less click of the mouse. And so that wraps up the year 2006.
As for aspirations and resolutions for 2007 - Iman wants to study harder and buy an Xbox (that's what he say), Juliana wants to get Number 2 in class (don't ask me why no.2, and not no.1, I also don't understand, I guess she has her own reasons). Nadhirah wants a baby sister, really she has a named for her also. The wife wants to lose weight and look sexy for the husband, and after that going to buy a thong and then frolick in the beach with a 2 piece bikini, and as for me, I wish to continue study for the Masters (though financially not do-able yet, but I can wish for a miracle and pray for murah rezeki) and also to get out of this country... Happy New Year!

Rated PG for some disturbing scenes.
This is my version of the Captain Ball's match. Its taken from first person perspective, up-close and personal. Raise the volume of your speakers, and listen to the background music, shouts and shrieks! Be afraid... Be very afraid!

Bukom Island Retreat
We begin the new year with a family gathering at Pulau Bukom resort. We were all psyched up for the games and barbeques and awards. Everyone were all gathered at the ferry terminal by noon at Pasir Panjang, and boarded the ferry to take us to Pulau Bukom.
The resort rooms were very big, but with a "little tint of spooky", especially the outside corridors, but when together-together oklah not so bad. The swimming pool is the best -gorgeous views and very deep.
Bowling
The first match of the day was bowling, and everyone was super duper psyched with their partners to get the top score. Everyone is involved, even the "golden citizens" gave a close fight to the young ones. To tell you the truth we were under pressure to retain our title, and we choked. Started with several longkangs, but luckily we had some strikes towards the end, which put us in second place. Everyone blame the lane, the ball, the aircon, but not themselves... haha hilarious! There were so much cheers and jeers, I'm surprised the roof didn't caved in on us. Nevertheless it was all in good fun, and I'm pleased to report, other then Zetty and Bakjat, the rest including us didn't improved at all... hahaha.
Badminton Match
The next game was badminton, and refereed by Abg Lan. Almost every team was confused during the start - where to stand and who to serve to. Some players were quite impressive, but can't say the same for their partners. JJ was impressive during play and so was his son Khairul (one of those unlucky people who had to partner the wife and sister.. hehe). Wak Sam, not bad for his age, his volleys and smashes very accurate and powerfull. Anis and Mai were outstanding badminton players and rightly deserve the championship trophy, after beating Yan and Herman.
As for me and my partner (wife), we were beaten by Is and Zetty, but we wouldn't want to blame ourselves, so we blame our Shing Shong rackets ($3.90) that we used.
The Barbeque
Lighting the firestarter was a disaster. Food was in abundance but the fire was still no where in-sight. Finally when it started, we ate hot dogs first, totally unglamourous. Then the ikan pari and sotongs came and went very fast. By the end of the barbeque, I had to lie down for a while, because "stuffs" were wanting to come out from my both ends. The children played some telematch games, and for some there were riddles and "dirty talks" from... (well you know who you are).
Captain Ball
What would you get if you put a mix bunch of teenagers, middle age and senior citizens women, mothers of 1 to 6, in a game of Captain Ball. I had visions of slow and lazy females standing around and waiting for the ball, and not making any effort to play. BOY, I WAS SO WRONG!!! This game should be rename Brutal Ball after watching the match. The term 'Gropping' will not turn me on anymore, and I am traumatised for life if I see a woman with a ball in their hand. Players were being pushed - shoved - molested - exploited - groped, and these people are my sisters and my nieces!
Its even more violent than a rugby match. Husbands watched in bewilderment at what their "sweet and adorable" wife have become. They chased after the ball, threw it all over the place, shoved each other to the gound and even when someone had the ball, they still go after it. HELLO! The rules states that when someone keep the ball for more than 3 seconds, the play will stop and the ball will be forfeited and given to the other side. So much about rules... this is a game without rules!
The most tersangatlah BRUTALEST! player in my opinion, is Oja. Even though she didn't get the ball (wonder why nobody pass to her? hehehe) , she kept on running and running, goes after the players, taking down one after another. Caught on my video, as she mows down Mai in one swoop, and Mai fell to the ground, and then she carries on going after the other players, all the while with a smile on her face. Need 2 girls to hold both her arms! Oja - I Salute You! I admire your sportsmanship! You are the WOMAN! (I'm smilling whenever I remember her karate chop).
Nevertheless, its fun to see these women doing some "heavy breathing" for something else for a change (how come that doesn't sounds right).
Street Soccer
I was so relief this game was not held at the football field, but instead at the basketball court. So it became a street soccer game one with 7 players at each side. During the game, Herman and Hakim both kick the ball to their father's head, unintentionally of course. I had a ball in my face from Khairul's penalty kick, nevermind, I endure anything other than running up and down a field.
The prize giving presentation and awards was held indoors in one of the room. We celebrated Sabrina's birthday and then followed by prize presentation, given by the CEO of Hj Salleh Pte. Ltd.
We at YLO IN DA HOUSE would like to THANK EVERYONE WHO VOTED FOR US AND ALSO TO ANYONE WHO VISITS OUR BLOG!
We are flattered by your votes, and we hold the trophies in high regards, because you will not find these in any flea markets or anywhere in the world. These trophies came from our family. Personalised with your family name, and presented by the oldest family member - our father / our atuk / nyai Hj Salleh. You will not get these anywhere, as such its a family treasure.
If you have been awarded one, from past and present, treasure them and keep them carefully, and present them in your home proudly. Let these trophies be a reminder to us in the future for our children and grandchildrens, not as winning trophies, but as a momento, in a time when we are together, shared laughter and joy, and had fun as a family in 2007.
*lastly we THANK our brother/uncle Abdul Kadir for making all this happen. May ALLAH bless you!
