Supernanny

3X says "Talking about TV shows, there's actually another TV show called Supernanny (http://abc.go.com/primetime/supernanny/). Its shown on Arts Central every Thursday night (I think). Apparently its one of those reality tv shows, that features family with very naughty children, where the parents can't handle it, and so they called upon this Jofrost (aka super nanny) to teached them a thing or two about parenting. First of all the title is mis-leading, its nothing about babysitting - i thought the "supernanny" will be the one disciplining the kids, instead its about her teaching the parents how to punish their children properly.
The children shown are really-really naughty (but who isn't right), I don't really blame the kids, its the parents of this kids who are really a bunch of dumb-ass people. If a child swears, spits, beats you -what do you do? Talk to them nicely? and ask them to sit at a "naughty" place for several minutes? Its like saying to the child - Do whatever you want to anyone on the street - and then sit down to rests at this spot for a few minutes and everything will be ok. For goodness sake give that child no 1 - Mental Torture and no 2 - Physical Torture... am I right?...hehehe just joking. Less extreme - Sometimes their butt just needs to be acquainted with your palm and 5 fingers, and a simple technique with a thumb and a finger (called pinching) usually does the trick, and to add to that dramatic effect - open your eyeballs as wide as you can and shout some "pass-down from generations" scoldings. The child will usually cry after this, but he/she will think twice about commiting the same mistakes....hehehe...
But all this should be done indoors, never-ever-ever punish (aka humiliate) the child (or even spouses) in the public. I always let things slide when they done something wrong when people are around, its a diffferent matter when they's nobody around. But for this to work - it must be followed by 2 equal amounts of hugs and kisses. I really do keep track of how many they "get", and then "give" them back twice as much.
