Masihkah kau ingat....

Iman says "Hari minggu lepas kita ada kenduri baca yassin untuk arwah nenek Iman. Actually, Iman tak ingat sangatlah arwah nenek pasal bila dia ada, Iman masih kecik lagi (macamlah sekarang dah besar sangat). Hari yang dia meninggal Iman ingat, malam tu Iman tak boleh tidur lansung, nangis satu malam."

Juliana says "Iman tak ingat ke arwah nenek? Kan dulu bila dalam kereta, dia duduk sebelah Iman, lepas tu Iman tenong dia aje mata tak kelip pun, sampai dia ketawakan Iman. Kita ingat, tapi tak pernah cakap dengan dia, pasal dulu belum tahu cakap."

Nadhirah says "Iya lansung tak dapat jumpa arwah nenek. Tapikan, pernah dengar abah cakap, bila arwah nenek meninggal, hati dia rasa macam kosong sangat, sampai dia buat keputusan untuk "ada-kan" iya..

Selalunya pada hari tu, I akan tuntut something from my husband... bukan emas/diamond/permata/sportscar... cuma sekuntum bunga je, atau card je... Ada satu kali tu dia balik tangan kosong, lepas tu kita pun merajuklah, dia punya meradang keluar balik pergi kedai kat semberang beli bunga, lepas tu kasi kita muka masam... ada ke patut?"

3X says "Ada sesiapa tahu kedai mana ada jual bunga satu $0.20 ?"

SG - KL - SG

Sepanjang perjalanan balik ke Singapore, hujan lebat, all the way dari KL sampai ke Sg. So tak dapatlah berdesut, sampai checkpoint exactly midnight."

Takdir Tuhan

3X says "When I heard the news, while driving home, I became angry and eventually sad. I visualise what Shikin (isteri-nya) must been going through. To go through this twice, I think is devastating. What I felt, maybe is what she felt multiply by 100. Tapi kita kena terima, takdir dari Tuhan. This is one of those moments, that make you think, that we are all vunerable to his power.

For your reading pleasure...

Punggol Beach, World War II site
It is said that the place was indeed keras. Many have seen white apparitions flying across the road and hanging from the big trees at night. Some have even heard gun shots before. Anglers said that they have seen a man squatting near a tree. When approached, he vanished. Trees have been around since the World War II, each of them has their own penunggu. On 28th February 1942, some 400 Chinese civilians were, killed along the Punggol foreshore by kempetai firing squads.

East Coast Park's Bayshore Road Underpass

It is claimed to be haunted and is situated near the Bedok Jetty and Carpark E2. Many people who were walking alone in the underpass always noticed a second shadow walking beside them. Others felt 'someone' following them from behind, but when they turned around, there was nothing. There are sightings of a young 'girl' squatting against the wall in the far end of the underpass and would vanished into thin air if you approach her. People said one end of the underpass, the one leading to the sea, will always be dark, no matter what time is it or how good the lights are. See it for yourself.

East Coast Park's Bedok Jetty
People who have walked past the big tree situated there, would see a young girl on a swing. Many people have drowned near this jetty. On some nights, some anglers have seen a boy slipped over the fence and fall into the sea. The funny thing was, he didn't struggle or wave frantically. Instead he simply 'disappeared' into the waters, just like that.

Seletar River
Some people have see an ang moh guy with white hair, handsome, smart and very casual. If you turn your back and look at him, he's not actually walking, he is floating. Apparently it is quite common to see soldiers in British uniform near the Seletar River. In the past, an old lady had slipped and fell into the river. She was reported to have drowned but her corpse was never found. Many people have seen 'someone' struggling in the water and waving for help during rainy days, but would disappear after a few seconds.

Queensway KTM Quarters
There's a quarter or house there, that has a full-length grave, without the tombstone, "growing" out of nowhere. The grave literally took up nearly three-quarter of the living room. The grave wasn't there when the residents moved there five years ago. The grave began to grow slowly, started of as a small ant-hill and soon developed into a full, Muslim-like grave. The people there couldn't do anything about it. And since, the grave never gave them any problems of any kind, they decided to live with it. The only thing they had to bear in mind was not to step over the grave, simply to pay some respect to whoever is underneath it. The quarter is still there but locked.

Labrador Park
People have heard laughters coming from the right end of the Jetty.

MacRitchie Reservoir
It is rumoured that if you were to flick a coin into the reservoir and make a wish, it will come true. The chances of your wish coming true will be higher if the coin lands on the back of a tortoise. At the Lim Bo Seng Memorial, the narrow, long steps, are said to be 'unclean'.Joggers have complained incidents of twigs and small branches being hurled at them while running down these steps. When they looked up, they could see nothing but parts of the tree moving by itself.

Kota Tinggi Waterfall

Juliana says "Hari ni kita ponteng sekolah, pasal abah masih cuti dan umi pulak "mengidam" nak mandi air terjun, so pagi-pagi lagi kita pergi Kota Tinggi Waterfall. Sampai sana ingat orang tak ramai pasal hari isnin, sekali ramai-nya orang."

Nadhirah says "Kita kan terberak kat air terjunlah. Kita pun tak sedar bila kita terberak. Abah cebuk kita lepas tu seluar kita dia buang kat tepi tebing... hehehe...

Tadi kan kengkawan, kita tengah duduk sekali ada dragonfly besar hinggap kat kaki kita, kita pun terpekik-pekau, lepas tu dia hinggap kat Juliana pulak, umi lari dulu, abah ketawakan kita... eeeiiikkss gelinya dragon fly tu!"

Yati says "Kita duduk kat air terjun dari 11pagi sampai 4petang, saje aje nak duduk-duduk kat air sejuk, hari-hari panaslah so asyik terbayang-bayang berendam kat air-terjun... sedapnya berendam macam badak sumbu."

3X says "Actually kalau Lata Iskandar Waterfall tu dekat, dah pergi ke sana, so terpaksalah cari air-terjun yang paling dekat. Sejuk air terjun Kota Tinggi dengan Lata Iskandar lain rasanya. Memang dua-duanya sejuk, tapi kalau kat Lata Iskandar, bila mandi rasa macam air-con... very refreshing. Anyway nampak si Iman terperanjat dengan dragonfly is the most funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. Of all people dia hinggap dengan si penakut tu, gamat budak tu!!! khahaha!"

My parents have the flu...

Iman says "Hi kengkawan, apa khabar? Kita sihat, tapi Abah dan Umi tengah sakitlah. Kedua-dua-nya tengah sakit selsema, tapi kita tiga orang tak sakit pulak... coming soon agaknya. Anyway, minggu lepaskan bila abah cuti, kita orang tengok cerita "Bewitched", punyalah tak bagus... tak kelakar lansung, membuang masa dan duit aje kita orang pergi tengok. Kita orang tengok kat Leisure Mall, JB. Bagus tempat tu, ada Bowling, GV Cinemas, Giant dan best of all parking free of charge. So kengkawan kalau nak save duit, dan jalan2 kat JB, pergilah Leisure Mall."

Cheap Thrills

3X says "I'm still thinking about last night, and the adrenalin rush from the fright is like syok...what a rush!!! Tomorrow I'm working night shift, so maybe I pass by that place again... feeling scared can become addictive...

Anyway, while we're on this subject, here's a story about my work-place Lasalle college, I have worked there for 10 years, and there's lots of stories by the staffs and especially the security guards. This college use to be a primary school, Tun Sri Lanang, so its really an old building with lots of histories.

One story involves the corridor of the Fine Arts department. Along this corridor, numerous people have heard a young girl playing, especially in the morning. And at night in this building too, a lady is often seen too. Security guards who work the night shift have often seen these "beings", loitering along the third floor.

Recently about a month ago, I was going home late at about 9pm plus, while I was walking towards the car park, a security guard came running with only his shorts. He told me while he was bathing, he saw a lady in the toilet, and he ran out as fast as he could. There was also a lecturer who use the toilet there, and she heard a young girl crying, and it was early morning. For me I still use that toilet even when I work the night shift, because its the one nearest to the car park. For ten years till now, I neither hear nor see anything while using it because most of the time, I'm too tired to think about these things.

I'm not so much as in interested to see these "things", but the feeling or the sensation of feeling scared, that feels kind of "high" (ada faham?)... but pity my wife, what she has to go through while I seek this cheap "thrills"...

Lim Chu Kang Road

3X says "Ok let tell you what happened to me just a few hours ago... now its 11pm, so this happened to me at around 9:45pm just now. Ok to cut long story short, I was at Jurong Point at around 8:45pm after meeting a friend there. On returning to Woodlands I decided to use the Lim Chu Kang Road instead of the PIE. Its the route after Jalan Bahar Chinese/Malay Cemetery. I like to use this route especially at night because its peaceful and "exciting" (my wife hates it when I drive there at night). I also like to use this route because it seems like a shorter distance than using the PIE. So anyway...

Its 9pm at night, and after passing by the malay/chinese cemeteries, so with Amuk song playing, I entered the Lim Chu Kang road after turning right at the foreign worker quarters. I have used this route I think counting this, about 5 times already (at night). So I drove through the forest road, no car infront or behind. Normally the last 4 times I drive, I don't feel anything at all, not scared, not eerie, just drive without thinking anything. But tonight I felt so scared.. this could be due to remembering last night Channel 5 "Incredible Tale" or could be because it was drizzling... I'm not sure, but I felt very scared.

Then, in the middle of the journey, (after the vegetable farm)... my car stopped. My car has a history of stopping in the middle of driving a couple of times already, could be due to bad battery, or cold weather. It has happened before about 3 times in the past months, while driving in the PIE and at the car park. I usually turn the ignition key to start back again, and it will start, and I will continue driving, but sometimes it needs 5 minutes. But this time when it stopped, it would not start, so I knew it needs some time to heat up.

So there I was, in the middle of Lim Chu Kang road, dark forest left and right of me and silence. Luckily the car lights still functioning, so I could still see infront of me. Of course, by now I start feeling regret for using this road, and could visualise yati saying "tulah orang dah cakap kan... padan muka". So I sat there in the dark, to wait at least 5 minutes to try starting the ignition. Sounds of crickets, trees rustling, the wind, and my breathing...then...

what happens next could make you faint... you want to know what I saw...

Infront of me and coming straight at me... a white figure, at about 10 metres down the road, flying or gliding towards me. I was scared but also excited, now at least I can see what others have "claimed" to see. Frantically, I start turning the key..again and again, but it still would not start. I try not to look infront, but I can't help it, its coming closer and closer. I pray for any car to pass by, and baca surah kursi, but my mind was so cramped I cannot remember ayat-nya. I was sweating and my mouth was dry, and my breathing became louder and louder.

Soon the white figure was in front, and I could see... it was an indian man in white jubah clothes with songkok riding a bicycle. I was relief for a while... He pass by my car. Immediately I turn on the iginition, and alhamdullilah it starts back and I drove off. A few minutes later, I reached Sungai Buloh, and some lorries and vans are on the road.... phew...

Thinking back, luckily what I saw was a man and not a ghost... then I recalled what I saw and I started thinking. As I said he was wearing this white jubah and white songkok and riding a bicycle... he was cycling quite fast and he looked scared, as if like running away from something... AND the most strangest thing of all, when he pass by my car, he didn't look inside, he just looked infront, any normal reaction from anyone is to look in the car and not ignore it, don't you think?

Well, I think he's one of the foreign worker going back to his quarters at the beginning of the road. Anyway, I don't want to sensationalise my story to make it sound like I saw a ghost, where in fact its just a guy on a bicycle who happens to dress in white.

I'm thinking of organising a road trip there if anybody interested (herman/yan, arin, abg jaafar interested?), so that you have a chance to have a feel of the place. Its just a half-an-hour drive, no traffic lights, long-winding road... cool and peaceful... do let me know, I'll be glad to bring you there....

Interview - Birthday - Changi

Hari ni pun kita potong rambut, Bik Munah potongkan. Juliana punya rambut pun dia potongkan... Terimakasih Bik Munah"

3X says "Actually kat rumah sana kita semua nak tengok "Pontianak Menjerit", tapi my "technologically-impaired" sister taruk VCD-nya terbalik, sampai DVD player tu merajuk tak nak start. So for 3 hours dia orang anak-beranak ketuk TV, ketuk player... pun tak boleh start jugak, so stuck with that national day parade on TV- simply torture! Channel 8 lepas tu Channel 5 pulak. Finally uji came to the rescue and luckily the player boleh start. So dapat jugak tengok cerita tu, kelakar rabak jugak, but in the end tak logic lansung, but overall very funny movie. So the moral of the story is - Never Ever Ever Put Your CD Terbalik in your DVD player."

Juliana says "Lepas duduk kat tepi laut, kita jalan2 kat Boardwalk Sailing club (10pm) pulak. Sunyi sepi, cuma kita orang aje anak beranak berjalan kat sana. Kak Oja pulak kasut high heel dia asyik tersangkut kat celah2 papan boardwalk tu...hehehe. Tapi umi ni penakutlah jalan baru separuh jalan dia dah ajak semua orang balik. Bik, hatim, sufi dan kak syirah tumpang kita balik. Bila Abah drive road tepi Changi Hospital, terpekik-pekau semua orang, pasal dia slow down dan semua orang takut...hehehe. Lepas tu dia drive road tepi Changi Prison, kita first time jalan situ, besar jugak tempat tu. Sampai rumah kita kepenatan, lepas mandi terus ZZZZzzzzz"

Since my husband kerja, I bawak kereta, ambik kak Minah dari rumah-nya dan terus ke airport. Sampai kat airport pulak, rupa2-nya timing si Faiz balik salah, pukul 5pm baru berangkat dari sana, so sampai singapore pukul 6pm++. So terpaksalah tinggalkan kak minah kat airport pasal nak kena ambik Juliana balik dari sekolah. Anyway, Get Well Soon Kak Minah"

ke Ayer Hitam - Kuantan - Gunung Lambak

Yati says "Hari isnin lepas driver balik dari kerja kita terus ke Ayer Hitam, sampai nak dekat pukul 11pm. Sebelum tu kita makan kat Machap. Baby-nya girl, nama mereka belum cari lagi. Mother and baby sihat je takde complications.

3X says "Lepas dari Hospital, kita rileks kat Teluk Cempedak. Dalam pukul 5pm gitu, kita balik ke Ayer Hitam, rasa macam takde mood pulak nak overnight kat Kuantan. So balik Ayer Hitam lagi 4 jam, jalan Segamat... fooh punyalah gelap, tapi kita dah expect pasal dah nak dekat 4 kali kita lalui road tu. Drive kat Yong Peng gelap gelita, tapi takdelah entiti ape-ape. Syok jugak macam adventure gitu, hutan kiri-kanan, takde lampu, cari-cari jugak entiti tapi tak jumpa jugak"

Ok jugaklah kita orang mandi, orang takde, kita je anak beranak."

Iman says "Sebelum kita mandi, kita pergi check-out chalet-nya. Rumah-rumah-nya kat atas bukit...ok jugaklah for rm$60. Ada suspension bridge, umi terpekik-pekau bila abah kacau dia naik bridge tu...hehehe. Anyway satu hari kita nak jugak duduk kat situ, nampak macam peaceful aje.

Family Bowling Tournament

Bowling Results:

Time : 5:30pm (tapi 6:00 baru sampai)
Place : Orchid Country Club

Oja membuka tirai pertandingan, tapi kedua-dua lemparan-nya termasuk longkang. Kemudian Mai pulak, masuk longkang lagi, Pin bowling masih berdiri, belum ada yang jatuh. Bak jat pula melempar macam gasing, berpusing kebelakang, semua orang hairan "apa style ni?" - sungguh menakjubkan.

Sememang-nya semua memang takde bakat bowling (termasuk aku jugak). Nak cecah 100 points terkial-kial. Tapi yang penting semua seronok dan happy.

Sehingga di lain pertandingan... salam sejahtera.

My Life's Presents

Yati says " Kami mengucapkan Selamat Hari Jadi kepada Abah/Ayang yang tersayang, dengan ucapan "Rock Maintain Selalu!" Allah Selamatkan Kamu! Allah Selamatkan Kamu!

3X says "2005-1971 = 34 tahun... lah ingatkan 32, bila pakai calculator baru tahu rupa-rupanya 34 tahun. Rasa macam dah tua tapi rasa 34 macam masih umur setengah jagung.. agaknya lah tu.
