Lim Chu Kang Road

3X says "Ok let tell you what happened to me just a few hours ago... now its 11pm, so this happened to me at around 9:45pm just now. Ok to cut long story short, I was at Jurong Point at around 8:45pm after meeting a friend there. On returning to Woodlands I decided to use the Lim Chu Kang Road instead of the PIE. Its the route after Jalan Bahar Chinese/Malay Cemetery. I like to use this route especially at night because its peaceful and "exciting" (my wife hates it when I drive there at night). I also like to use this route because it seems like a shorter distance than using the PIE. So anyway...

Its 9pm at night, and after passing by the malay/chinese cemeteries, so with Amuk song playing, I entered the Lim Chu Kang road after turning right at the foreign worker quarters. I have used this route I think counting this, about 5 times already (at night). So I drove through the forest road, no car infront or behind. Normally the last 4 times I drive, I don't feel anything at all, not scared, not eerie, just drive without thinking anything. But tonight I felt so scared.. this could be due to remembering last night Channel 5 "Incredible Tale" or could be because it was drizzling... I'm not sure, but I felt very scared.

Then, in the middle of the journey, (after the vegetable farm)... my car stopped. My car has a history of stopping in the middle of driving a couple of times already, could be due to bad battery, or cold weather. It has happened before about 3 times in the past months, while driving in the PIE and at the car park. I usually turn the ignition key to start back again, and it will start, and I will continue driving, but sometimes it needs 5 minutes. But this time when it stopped, it would not start, so I knew it needs some time to heat up.

So there I was, in the middle of Lim Chu Kang road, dark forest left and right of me and silence. Luckily the car lights still functioning, so I could still see infront of me. Of course, by now I start feeling regret for using this road, and could visualise yati saying "tulah orang dah cakap kan... padan muka". So I sat there in the dark, to wait at least 5 minutes to try starting the ignition. Sounds of crickets, trees rustling, the wind, and my breathing...then...

what happens next could make you faint... you want to know what I saw...

Infront of me and coming straight at me... a white figure, at about 10 metres down the road, flying or gliding towards me. I was scared but also excited, now at least I can see what others have "claimed" to see. Frantically, I start turning the key..again and again, but it still would not start. I try not to look infront, but I can't help it, its coming closer and closer. I pray for any car to pass by, and baca surah kursi, but my mind was so cramped I cannot remember ayat-nya. I was sweating and my mouth was dry, and my breathing became louder and louder.

Soon the white figure was in front, and I could see... it was an indian man in white jubah clothes with songkok riding a bicycle. I was relief for a while... He pass by my car. Immediately I turn on the iginition, and alhamdullilah it starts back and I drove off. A few minutes later, I reached Sungai Buloh, and some lorries and vans are on the road.... phew...

Thinking back, luckily what I saw was a man and not a ghost... then I recalled what I saw and I started thinking. As I said he was wearing this white jubah and white songkok and riding a bicycle... he was cycling quite fast and he looked scared, as if like running away from something... AND the most strangest thing of all, when he pass by my car, he didn't look inside, he just looked infront, any normal reaction from anyone is to look in the car and not ignore it, don't you think?

Well, I think he's one of the foreign worker going back to his quarters at the beginning of the road. Anyway, I don't want to sensationalise my story to make it sound like I saw a ghost, where in fact its just a guy on a bicycle who happens to dress in white.

I'm thinking of organising a road trip there if anybody interested (herman/yan, arin, abg jaafar interested?), so that you have a chance to have a feel of the place. Its just a half-an-hour drive, no traffic lights, long-winding road... cool and peaceful... do let me know, I'll be glad to bring you there....
