Hair Mis-adventure

3X says "What have I done?!?!... That's what I've said to myself when I tried to cut Iman's hair. A day before, yati cut his hair, and it didn't turn out right, so then I tried to cut it short and make it right... wrong decision... it turns out to be a disaster... somehow it got shorter and shorter and even worst and some parts were so short that you can see the skin... so we decided to shave it all off."

Yati says "Out of panic, we called Abang Ram to ask for advice, and he said its ok to shave it off, but it's easier if we have clippers, which we didn't have. After an hour, father and son in the toilet, the father trying to shave it all off, but after 3 shaving blades, he gave up, and his head turns out looking like a map, sporadic hair everywhere."

Juliana says "Next day, Iman skipped school because of the state of his hair. Abah don't know what else to do, so Mama called Wak Saadon to ask for help. So after school we all went to Wak Saadon house, who shaved off all Iman's hair using electric clippers, which took only 10 mins. Abah was so relief to see Iman's head, he was so guilt ridden the whole day."

Iman says "I look like Mawi... yeah!!! Kalau jumpa Iman jangan terperanjat ok!"

Semoga Tuhan Mencucuri Rahmat ke-atas Rohnya"

Singapore Idol

Hady Mirza.
That guy deserve to be the winner, I got nothing against the other guy, he's voice is ok also. At first I didn't think it could happen, the first time was 'maybe' a fluke, but for it to happen again... wow unprecedented. And this is also the first time I sms to vote... 1 only, while yati 4 sms. Anyway I still believe, the singers (other than Hady), the rests (including Taufik) are way below average, if compared to the Malaysians and Indonesians, if you watched their Idol competitions and Akademi Fantasia, you would see and hear great talent. Anyway, our kids are crazy over Joakim, don't ask why, we the parents also don't know. So hopefully this guy remains humble, and not let it get over his head. Congrats!

Selamat Berpuasa!

Iman says "Hai kengkawan, terlebih dahulu, Selamat Berpuasa! Nak tahu apa kita buat weekend lepas (sehari sebelum puasa)...

Juliana says "Lepas jamming, kita pergi Suria Carnival, kat depan Raffles hospital. Mula-mula kita ingat salah tempat, pasal bila abah park kat Istana Kg Glam, takde happening apa-apa pun... rupa2nya bila kita jalan depan sikit baru nampak kemah carnival tu. Tapikan... tak happening sangatlah, pasal tak banyak gerai... macam indah khabar dari rupa gitu, pergi Geylang lagi bagus."

Yati says "Hi semua, Selamat Menyambut Bulan Ramadhan dan Selamat Berpuasa. Tahun ni kita berpuasa 3 orang, pasal Juliana dah ok puasa satu hari, Iman pulak kita belum paksa lagi, pasal takut kalau dua-dua merengek dan meragam tak boleh handle. Tapi Juliana ni baguslah, adik-adik dia makan depan dia pun steady aje, very proud of her, sikit pun dia tak complain atau bad mood, dan ada banyak energy. Actually pagi lepas pergi Kubur, lepas tu kita pergi jalan2 kat Sungai Road, panas terik pulak tu, so risau jugak dgn Juliana, tapi dia Ok aje, tak kehausan. Extremely proud of her! Anyway today kita orang semua sahur dengan corn-flakes with milk dan buka dengan Nasi Beryani ayam, power!"

3X says "Yes Happy Fasting month, Alhamdullilah dapat berjumpa lagi dengan bulan mulia ini. Thanks to Mykidz for inviting us along for karaoke session. Bro Anis, I enjoy singing with you man! You got passion and heart when it comes to singing... you powerlah bro! Mai when you sing, your voice reminds me of Kaklong aje... suara sama.. hehehe. Anyway, lepas puasa/raya, maybe we can do it again at City Square Johor. And to my jamming kakis, Ayangz and Quirky, I think we're improving a bit and expanded our musical skills more with more songs, I guess next session (lepas raya), I think we should be even more better.
So once again, to all our
Family Members, Friends,
Saudara-saudara Islam di seluruh dunia
Selamat Berpuasa!

Slayer coming to town!

Wah so long never update, I think this is the longest time my blog was neglected. It was a super crazy busyweek/days, would you believe there are days that I haven't had the time to surf the net for pleasure!

3X says "Anyway firstly, Slayer is coming to town. I've been listening to this speed metal band all my life, along with Metallica, Helloween and Iron Maiden. So the four piece band will be performing on Oct 13 (Don't ask if I'm going or not, I cannot answer). I'm a 35yr old father of 3, balding and buncit and I still listen to heavy metal - @#&k yeah!"

On another different note, for the whole of last week, I had to attend the Mac OS X Server training. Really exciting stuff, if you're into Apple machines and computer networking stuff. Anyway after a whole week of training, what do you think is the repercussions... piles of work waiting to be done, and the best part is early monday morning, got call up by the boss, who
immediately commands the new Mac X Servers to be operational - up and running asap. WTF!!! Nevermind, not one to whine, I just countered with "OK! No problem!!!", so begins the brainwork reading tons of manuals and calls to vendors, finally got it up and running only today. My very first server setup (for Mac), round of applause please.
http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/

I've done Novell Netware server(at Income), Win NT-4 server, Win 2003 server, Linux... and now I got the Mac experience. I feel complete!

hmmm... what else I've done since last week... played football (for 10 mins I think), brought back a huge cabinet from TamanBahasa (special thanks to Sweetdarlings for the help). Then got jamming session with Ayangz and Quirky this saturday, and also possibly karaoke session with Mykidz....

... to be continued

Scary Movies

3X says "I was in the mood for some horror movies, so off I went to the video rent shop across the road.. 'The Nun' -out.. 'Boo' -out.. 'The Mortuary' -out.. *basket* all the movies I want to rent are all out... settled for girly hero flick - 'Aeon Flux' and 'Vendetta'. Anyway, talking about scary movies, there are some past movies that I could not bring myself to watch... namely these -
1 2 3 4
and that's the order of "scared-me-shit!!!". I gave Evil Dead no.1 in my rating, because I have the original VCD and till now I can't bring myself to watch it, even in broad daylight. Next on my list is the Exorcist, no need to explain. Salem's Lot gives me creepy vision of that scene at the window...eeeeks.. Ju-On -that boy that meows and his mother - make me shout "W.T.F!!!" so many times.
Anyway in my opinion, no recent horror flicks made these days can matched the nightmares the above movies gave me. I know I'm a grown man, but even a man can get shocked by creepy scenes, grotesque make-up and shocking sound effects. But sometimes its fun to scary yourself silly, in order to escape from the real world.

*ps* anyone wants to borrow my Evil Dead VCD, or watch with me.....

Jamming History

3X says "Flashback 1986 - First time jamming with my classmate in secondary school. Somehow if you want to be cool that time, you have to form a band and tell everyone that you go jamming. I was a drummer then, and we played a lot of Scorpions song - Rock you like a hurricane. A few girls followed us and even though we played badly, some girls thought its cool to hang with us. We skipped school sometimes and went to City Plaza to Bedok to Roxy Square jamming studios.
Flashback 1992 - My old gang have moved on, and I found myself in another band with my NS mates. We have new skills and I've moved on from a drummer to rhythm guitar. As time goes on we got better, mostly Metallica, Iron Maiden, Helloween and Slayer songs. We were serious playing, and anyone caught playing with a wrong chord or tempo will get @#$@ from the rest. 2 guitars, 1 bass, 1 drummer and a vocalist.
Flashback Yesterday 2006 - 20 years on, I found myself in another band. Who would have thought, there we were - Me going jamming... with my 3 kids and the wife... along with 2 teachers... Yan & Eti, my nieces, wearing tudung somemore and their husbands, Herman and Is, and Is was wearing baju kurung somemore... you get the picture. We played love songs and it got progressive... Picture this - Yan, a teacher, wearing tudung... singing Kasihku Laila !!! The teenagers there watched we played and give us a thumbs up!!! At one point, we even played Smells like teen spirit... Next session, we going for more heavy rock, so watch out for Yan singing Plush (STP). Let's Rock!!!
